SUBJECT:   Invitation to BILC Professional Seminar in Vienna

1.        Location: The NATO/PfP 2006 BILC Professional Seminar will be held in Vienna, Austria 7-11 October 2007.

2.        Theme: Developing and delivering linguistic and cultural competencies

3.      Joining Instructions: Please see enclosure for detailed information from the Austrian Organising Committee. Arrivals, departures, hotel costs and a required seminar fee are explained.  We are very fortunate to have Vienna as the venue for our Seminar; however, because Vienna is a very popular destination for tourists and conferences it should be mentioned that the hotel room charges are high.  The Organising Committee was able to procure additional hotel conferencing facilities and services at a reduced rate and that has kept the seminar fee in the normal range.  As the room charges are the same for one or two persons, it is recommended that delegations consider sharing rooms if cost is a concern.

4.      Delegation Size: Generally, country delegations should be limited to one delegation head plus two delegation members, including a presenter.

5.      Partners and Mediterranean Dialog members wishing to participate in the 2007 BILC Professional Seminar may receive financial support by NATO in accordance with the NATO / PfP / MD Funding Policy in place.

Please Note:

Seminar attendees are required to pay all fees/hotel bills in person. The Partner and MD subsidy procedures explained in the enclosures must be followed by applying to the Partnership Coordination Cell (PCC); the BILC, the NTG, the PCC and the Austrian Organizing Committee will not pay hotel bills or any other fees directly.

6.        Visas: Delegations are responsible to determine any possible visa requirements for entry into Austria.

7.        Points of Contact: Please see the enclosed Joining Instructions.

8.    The PCC is kindly asked to distribute this invitation to Partner and

MD Liaison Offices and to coordinate subsidy requests.

9.  Deadlines (please see the joining instructions for details):

-            Registration forms and presentation applications- by 1 September.
